Experience

A breakdown of my professional journey, community involvement, and technical projects.

Professional Experience

Game Host Bros

Customer Support Representative

October 2025 - February 2026

Assisted customers with server configuration and performance while ensuring reliable uptime for their communities. This also included benchmarking servers for potential tweaks to improve server performance while still keeping things smooth and stable.

Key Takeaways

  • Config Tweaks:
Helped with lowering the crash rate of Minecraft servers by tweaking JVM flags according to self-research and prior experience. This also applied to the Hytale launch where several memory leaks were present on launch day.
  • Reddit Advertising:
Posted several in-depth comments on Reddit posts to try and attract potential customers. This often set me apart from the bot accounts that typically post ads on Reddit.
  • Customer Support:
First time using WHMCS as a customer support platform. Built upon Nodecraft experience; however, I spent more time on platform feedback.

Impact & Outcome

Furthered my understanding of how to debug Java in particular and the JVM memory model. Also gained a bit of experience with the advertising aspect.

Nodecraft

Customer Support Representative

November 2023 - January 2025

Assisted thousands of active customers with server setup and questions or performance issues. This also included working with their many partners with larger projects or modpack questions etc. In addition to that I also led many internal company improvements and researched various things to improve the existing customer support workflow.

Key Takeaways

  • Startup Pacing:
Gained valuable experience working in a startup-type environment where you are expected to always be on your toes and carry more weight on your shoulders compared to the average job.
  • Customer Support:
First official job where I was directly facing customers on a daily basis. I excelled during high volume periods such as the Palworld game launch and received high CSAT ratings a majority of the time.
  • Project Management:
I manually managed all Minecraft modpacks on the panel at the time which required extensive time management and prioritization skills.
  • Team Building:
There were several times where I spearheaded improvements to KB structure both internal and external along with ways to improve team efficiency.

Impact & Outcome

Tons of experience gained in the server hosting industry and customer support at the same time. This position also paved the way for me to learn more about Linux as a whole and furthered my technical knowledge for things like Minecraft and Java.
